There were nine offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Schuyler County during the second quarter of 2020, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Central Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 52. The youngest parolee was a 32-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 70-year-old man sentenced in 1990.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Kenneth A. Lewis. He was convicted in 2005 when he was 42 years old. He is now 57.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
