Lincoln Land Community College is offering the following business classes starting in January:
E PUBLIC SPEAKING
BUS-127 E-Business Strategy (3 Credits)
E-Business Strategy is designed to look at what it takes
to have a successful online venture. Students define a
business’ core strengths and integrate them with an
e-strategy. Strategies include customer service, marketing,
leadership, options for having a web site, creating value
and considerations for the future. 12 (3 lecture hours)
REQUISITES: None
COS 200 - Office Correspondence (3 Credits)
Use word processing and keyboarding software to
build keyboarding speed and accuracy.
REQUISITES:
COS 101 or 40-45 wpm - Must be completed prior to
taking this course.
CAS 121 - Must be taken either prior to or at the same
time as this course.
CAS 121 - Computer Applications and Concepts (3 Credits)
This transfer course provides an introduction to
computer applications and concepts. Students work with
popular word processing, spreadsheet, database, and
presentation software applicable to a variety of careers.
NOTE: Self-assessment of required skills using the
CAS 121 website, available at http://www.computerllcc.
org/, is recommended.
CTC 123 - Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (3 Credits)
Get training in using the operating system currently
used in the majority of businesses. This is course is
designed for those who have some computer experience
but are new to the Microsoft operating system.

ESI 101 - Employability Skills (2 Credits)
Learn what it takes to have a successful online venture.
You’ll define a business’ core strengths and integrate

BUS 130 - Human Resource Management (3
Credits)
Get an introduction to human resource
management principles, problems, theories and
applications of the leadership and development
of people in organizations. The course focuses on
human resource planning, recruitment, selections,
orientation, training, career development,
performance appraisal, ethics, diversity, union
management relations and succession planning
REQUISITES: BUS 121 or BUS 125 - Must be
completed prior to taking this course.
BUS 202 - Principles of Marketing (3 Credits)
Marketing is the process of planning and executing
the conception, pricing, promotion and distribution
of ideas, goods and services to create exchanges that
satisfy individual and organizational objectives.
REQUISITES: BUS 121 or BUS 125 - Must be
completed prior to taking this course.
BUS 230 - Leadership (3 Credits)
Evaluate and utilize the tools and techniques that
facilitate the effective performance of leadership. The
course focuses on understanding leadership roles
demonstrated in many management and personal
situations as an organizational dynamic. You’ll learn
about leadership principles, transformational vs
transactional leadership, importance of ethics and the
empowerment of people.
REQUISITES: None
CMN 101 - Public Speaking Fundamentals (3
Credits)
Learn effective ways to plan, organize, research,
practice and deliver speeches (both informative
and persuasive) before a live audience. The course
also addresses the importance of listening skills and
audience analysis in human communication.
REQUISITES: None
CMN 104 - Interpersonal Communication (3
Credits)
Learn basic principles, theories and skills involved in
interpersonal communication. You’ll study the impact
of effective perception, verbal messages, nonverbal
messages, listening, feedback, self-disclosure and
conflict management on your interaction with another
person. The course focuses on face-to-face interaction
in both personal and professional relationships.
REQUISITES: RDG 098 or appropriate
placement score - Must be completed prior to taking
this course.
