City of Pittsfield City Council met Dec. 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois, was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the Meeting Room of the Fire Department at 122 Jefferson Street. The following officers were present: Mayor John Hayden, and Aldermen Bill Grimsley, Kevin Ketchum, Paul Lennon, Robert Ritchart, Beth White, Robert Wilson, and Kevin Wombles. Alderman Kevin Wombles, Alderman Robert Wood attended via conference call.

Mayor Hayden presided.

Alderman Ketchum moved to approve the minutes of the November 17, 2020 Council meeting. Alderman Wood seconded the motion.

Roll Call: Yea: Grimsley, Lennon, Ritchart, White, Wilson, Wombles, Wood (7)

Nay: None (0)

Present: Ketchum (1)

The motion carried.

Alderman Ketchum moved to approve Pay Request #1 for Petty Construction, LLC in the amount of $13,900.00 for the Serenity Day Sap Foundation Wall Improvement Project, upon submission of a revised pay request that reflects 10% retainage.

Alderman Wilson seconded the motion.

Nay: None (0)

The motion carried.

Alderman Lennon moved to approve the Industrial Park Expansion Agreement with MECO Engineering for $51,290.00.

Alderman Ritchartseconded the motion.

Alderman Wombles moved to approve Ordinance No. 1670, An Ordinance Pertaining to Local State of Emergency.

Alderman Ritchartseconded the motion.

The motion carried.

Alderwoman White moved to suspend the rules and have the second reading of Ordinance No. 1670 by title only.

Alderman Lennon seconded the motion.

The motion Carried.

Alderman Wombles moved to approve Ordinance No. 1670 on it’s second reading title only. Alderman Wilson seconded the motion

The motion Carried.

Alderman Ritchart moved to approve the Finance Committee Report and the Clerk be directed to issue the claims thereon.

The motion Carried.

Park Ranger Bob Looper submitted Pittsfield Lake Campground Stats for the 2020 Camping Season. Mayor Hayden stated that he is very happy with Mr. Looper’s service as park ranger.

Alderman Ritchart asked what the profit level of the campground is. City Clerk stated that an expense report will be provided.

Mayor Hayden asked Max Middendorf how he felt the wall repair was on the Serenity Wall. Mr. Middendorf shared that the wall was completed.

Ed Knight met with Doug Strother to request a bid to complete the upper portion of the Serenity Wall and he will submit a bid within 5 days.

Ed Knight has applied for a Small Business Sustainability Program Grantthrough DECO.

Alderwoman White asked about repairs to the alley beside the Chamber Office. Mayor will speak with Street and Alley Superintendent, Jeff Griggs.

Chief Starman stated that Sheriff Greenwood has agreed to our counter offer for dispatch services. Chief Starman will prepare the agreement and submit to Attorney Hollahan for review.

Alderwoman White moved to adjourn this meeting at 6:17 p.m.
