The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #2 of Scott and Morgan Counties met in Regular Session at 7:00 p.m.
President, Gary Westermeyer, called the meeting to order at 7:12 pm with the following members answering roll call: Terry Kunkel, April Coats, Shelly Tweedy, and Gary Westermeyer. DeWayne Hart, Matt Smith and Ben Quade were absent.
Zach Morrissey and Christy Beddingfield were present.
April Coats made the motion to approve consent agenda which included approval of minutes of previous meetings, monthly bills, financial reports, and payroll. Terry Kunkle seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Shelly Tweedy and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.
There were no committee reports.
Dr Blankenship updated the Board on Election, COVID, and Feasibility study.
Mr. Kuhlmann shared about report cards, picture retakes and upcoming testing dates.
Shelly Tweedy made the motion to approve new policies: 3:40; 4:80; 4:90; 5:270; 6:20; 6:300; 6:310; 6:135; 6:320; 6:340; 7:100; 7:140 and 7:300.
April Coats seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Shelly Tweedy and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.
April Coats made the motion at 7:33 pm to move to closed session to discuss compensation, employment, hiring, termination of prospective or current employees (personnel). Terry Kunkle seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Shelly Tweedy and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried
Matt Smith entered executive session at 8:06 pm.
At 8:23 Terry Kunkel made the motion to reconvene as a regular meeting. Shelly Tweedy seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Shelly Tweedy and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.
Shelly Tweedy made the motion to approve personnel report, consisting of hiring Kenlie Henson, Administrative Assistant. April Coats seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Shelly Tweedy, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.
Shelly Tweedy made the motion to approve keeping July 2020 – December 2020 executive minutes closed. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Shelly Tweedy, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.
April Coats made the motion to adjourn at 8:24 pm. Shelly Tweedy seconded the motion. Yea: Matt Smith, April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Shelly Tweedy, and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.
