City of Beardstown issued the following announcement on Apr. 15.
Sec. 22-2. - Cutting required.
It shall be unlawful for an owner, occupant, or lessee of real property to refuse or neglect to cut weeds and/or grass on property owned, occupied, or leased by him when said grass and/or weeds have reached a height in excess of six (6) inches. Each day the excess growth of weeds or grass exists shall be deemed a separate violation. In addition to the penalties set forth in this chapter or found elsewhere in this Code, such violations shall be punishable as set forth in section 1-9 of this Code.

302.4 Weeds.
All premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth in excess of six inches. All noxious weeds shall be prohibited. Weeds shall be defined as all grasses, annual plants and vegetation, other than trees or shrubs provided: however, this term shall not include cultivated flowers and gardens.
