City of Pittsfield City Council Met Feb. 16.

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois, was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the City Hall Council Room at 215 North Monroe Street. The following officers were present: Mayor John Hayden, City Clerk Ann Moffit, Aldermen Bill Grimsley, Kevin Ketchum, Paul Lennon, Robert Ritchart, Beth White, Robert Wilson, Kevin Wombles, and Robert Wood.
Mayor Hayden presided.
Alderman Ketchum moved to approve the minutes of the February 02, 2021 Council meeting. Alderman Lennon seconded the motion.

Alderman Ketchum moved to approve the January 2021 Treasurer’s Report.

Alderman Wombles moved to approve Ordinance No. 1673, An Ordinance amending Code Section 156 Special Uses of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois on its first reading. Alderman Ketchum seconded the motion.

Alderman Wombles moved to suspend the rules and have the second reading of Ordinance No. 1673 as stated above.

Mayor Hayden stated that we were notified Saturday of a National Gas Emergency. He thanked the Alderman for coming in to assist the City Clerk and staff in contacting business to request a reduction in Natural Gas consumption.
Governor Pritzker declared all counties in Illinois were in a Natural Disaster. Senators Durbin and Duckworth have been contacted and are working on Federal Relief.
Alderman Ketchum thanked the community for their part in reducing gas consumption. Alderman Wood reiterated Mayor Hayden’s pleasure in the Alderman coming together in a time of need. Mayor Hayden stated that the Street and Alley Department began clearing the roads at 4am.
Economic Development Director Ed Knight stated that we have received our CURES funding that we have applied for with the exception of approximately $12,000 that is still in review. We also received reimbursement for the Business Sustainability Grant.
Chief Starman reported that when he received what he expected to be a $7,000 donation for body cameras it was actually $10,000. This will allow each officer to have a body camera as well as all necessary storage for the data. He also stated that he will purchase a used squad car to replace the Crown Victoria. He received Drug Forfeiture funds, that along with the sale of the current car should fund the purchase.
Alderwoman White moved to adjourn this meeting at 6:12 p.m.
