McDonough County Board Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met Aug. 10.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included, Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Terra Lithchfield, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, and Deckle McLean. Members absent were Cindi Helling, and Travis Hiel. Others in attendance included County Board Chair Scott Schwerer, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, Patrick Stout, Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander, Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout, Elms Director Gina Bickers, and Chad Wilson.
Chair Larry Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of July 13, 2021 Minutes
Member McLean moved with a second by Vice Chair Litchfield to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
None
Administrator’s Report
Census is at 77, with 10 being Medicare, 31 being Medicaid and, 21 private pay. Medicare currently owes $128,891.09. There were 30 admissions and, 25 discharges. Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe informed the Committee that they are back to testing twice a week for COVID-19.
Financial Report
Member Cox moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the July 2021 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Vice Chair Litchfield moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 5 yeas, 0 nays, 1 vacant and 2 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
Member Cox informed the Committee that bidding has gone out through the Building Commission for new guttering on the Sheriff’s Department.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Chad Wilson gave the report. Wilson informed the Committee that the Lights outside the Courthouse are finished. Wilson also stated that they have begun caulking the windows, and the hole is ready for the flagpole. The States Attorneys Office is moving along well. Wilson stated that the stage they are at now the stonework has cost $7662.50.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Cox moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the July Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other
County Board Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that Jerry Vawter gave a bid of $213,500.00 to wash, tuck point, and seal the outside of the Courthouse.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Cox to adjourn the meeting at 7:34 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
