Scott Morgan Community Unit School District 2 Board met Sept. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #2 of Scott and Morgan Counties met in Regular Session at 7:00 p.m.

President, Gary Westermeyer, called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm with the following members answering roll call: Terry Kunkel, April Coats, Matt Bangert, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer.

Erin Wahl, Tabitha Carie, and Jeff Abell were present.

Matt Bangert made the motion to approve consent agenda which included approval of minutes of previous meetings, monthly bills, financial reports, and payroll. Matt Smith seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Gary Westermeyer, Matt Smith and Matt Bangert. Nay: none Motion carried.

Dr. Blankenship updated the Board on COVID cases, mandate on vaccine or testing weekly, Scott County Health Dept helping with testing, proof mandate being followed, tableing vaccine/testing until further guidance, delivery issues with food supplier, shared enrollment numbers and ESSER 3 building updates to boiler, locker rooms and room editions.

Mr. Kuhlmann praised custodians on cleanliness of school, school pictures were taken today. Homecoming Activities were held last week. Big thank you to Kylie Slagle, she did an outstanding job with activities. All HS students were able to go over to Winchester for the day on Friday, K-8 students went over for the parade. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday October 14th and Thursday October 21st.

Matt Bangert made the motion to approve the tentative FY22 budget. April Coats seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Matt Bangert, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.

Matt Smith made the motion to approve the Esser 3 plan. Matt Bangert seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Matt Bangert, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: None Motion carried

At 8:10 pm April Coats made the motion to go into closed session. Matt Smith seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Matt Bangert, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.

At 9:08 pm Matt Bangert made the motion to reconvene as a regular meeting. April Coats seconded the motion. Yea: April Coats, Terry Kunkel, Matt Bangert, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.

Matt Bangert made the motion to approve personnel report, consisting of Resignation of Kelly Mast/JH Math and WC Assistant VB coach. The hiring of Amy Davis for WC Assistant VB coach. Terry Kunkel seconded the motion. Yea: Terry Kunkel, Matt Bangert, April Coats, Matt Smith and Gary Westermeyer. Nay: none Motion carried.
