City of Bushnell City Council met Dec. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from December 6, 2021

2. Accept November Financial/Treasurers Report.

Ald. Coates seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Wilt passed around a letter from Pastor Hughes about the food pantry and Bama.

*Mayor Wilt gave Chuck Howell a key to the city for his service the last 8 years on the council.

Chuck is moving out of town and will be unable to continue as alderman. Chuck has been the Chair of the Public Works committee and has done a commendable job. Thank you, Chuck, for Your service.

City Clerk Teresa Ebbert swore in Lisa Webb as the new Ward 2 alderperson.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Next meeting Thursday, December 23rd @ 4:00

Public Works

*Ald. Howell stated that the valves for the #4 well are in and should be installed within A couple of weeks.

*Ald. Howell stated that Schuld Company had put a ad in the paper thanking the city for The Davis Street project.

*Utility Supervisor Joe Fosdyck reported that Big D Electric has replaced 6 poles, and they Are waiting on permission from the railroad to finish that pole.

*Fosdyck stated that they have replaced all but 11 of the lights at the Recreation Center.

*Fosdyck asked about using some of the CURE money to buy drive by meter readers.

*Fosdyck stated that it was hard to find people to work because other places were offering Higher wages.

*Street Superintendent David Raymond thanked the city for the Bushnell Bucks that were Given to the employees as a Christmas gift.

*Greg Fulkerson from TEST stated that all the electrical is done on the new well.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Minutes from the 12/13/2021 meeting

*Jeff Rench from ESDA reported that they did some storm spotting last week, but thankfully It broke up before it got here.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Coates reported that Jim Brewer had been in touch with her about the splash park, she Informed him that the Public Works committee was taking over that project.

Economic Development

*Next meeting Monday, January 24th @ 4:00 at the City Hall.

MAEDCO

*Director Kim Pierce sent an email in stating that there had been 13 back to business grants Given out with one being from Bushnell.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Chuck Leageler stated that he sent a letter along with the bills from Stoneking And Cortelyou to Patty Sullivan. She should be sending a check for those two bills.

*Leageler stated he was still working on the traffic ordinances and would have them ready at The next meeting.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn.
