City of Pittsfield City Council met Nov. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois, was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the City Hall Council Room at 215 North Monroe Street. The following officers were present: Mayor Gary Mendenhall, City Clerk Ann Moffit, Aldermen Bill Grimsley, Kevin Ketchum, Paul Lennon, Chris Little, Robert Ritchart, Beth White, Robert Wilson and Kevin Wombles.

Mayor Mendenhall presided.

Alderman Little moved to approve the minutes of the November 02, 2021 Council meeting as amended. Alderman Ketchum seconded the motion.

Roll Call: Yea: Grimsley, Ketchum, Lennon, Little, Ritchart, White, Wilson, Wombles (8)

Nay: None (0)

Present: None (0)

The motion carried.

Alderman Wombles moved to approve the October, 2021 Treasurer’s Report.

Alderman Grimsley seconded the motion.

Roll Call: Yea: Grimsley, Ketchum, Lennon, Little, Ritchart, White, Wilson, Wombles (8)

Present: None (0)

The motion carried.

Alderwoman White moved to accept Ordinance Committees recommendation to direct Attorney Hollahan prepare the Propane Tank Ordinance.

Alderman Ketchum seconded the motion.

The motion carried.

Alderman Ritchart stated that the Food Truck Ordinance was tabled.

Alderwoman advised that a Finance Committee meeting should be called to allocate funds for City Goals.

Alderman Ritchart moved to appoint Chris Little, Paul Lennon and Kevin Wombles to the Personnel Committee.

Alderman Ketchum seconded the motion.

Alderman Ritchart moved to pay bills as stated by City Clerk.

Alderman Ketchum seconded the motion.

New Business:

Mayor Mendenhall stated that Ameren has an LED program and asked Tom Reinhardt to research. Alderman Ritchart has heard from residents feel like we did the right thing with the gas purchasing.

Alderman Ketchum asked what could be done about derby cars in town. Chief Starman stated that if they are derelict vehicles they would be handled as any ordinance violation.

Mayor Mendenhall stated that the Serenity Day Spa is sealed and the project is complete.

Alderman Little stated that The Crossing Food Pantry is Saturday, November 20, 2021 and they have several Turkey Breast.

The Simplicity App is up and running.

Tom Reinhardt stated that the restrooms at the campgrounds at the City Lake have been closed. The campground remains open but weather may require the water to be shut off at any time.

The Eagle Scouts projects are almost complete.

Demolition of United Feeds metal grain bins begins tomorrow.

Alderman Wombles moved to enter into closed session at 6:20 pm.

Alderman White seconded the motion.

Alderman Wilson moved to enter into open session at 6:40 pm.

Alderman White seconded the motion.

The motion carried.

Mayor Mendenhall stated due to the gas crisis in February we are exploring all option for the Gas Department.

Alderman White moved to adjourn this meeting at 6:41 p.m.
