Report: Beardstown School District spent $9,671 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Beardstown Community Unified School District 15 was up 22.8 percent from five years ago, according to the West Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cass County school district spent $7,878 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,671 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,586 to 1,519 students over the same period.

Beardstown's spending in 2019-20 was 33.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
