The fourth quarter of 2018: Home prices in Hamilton increased

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Hamilton rose by $3,290 while total sales decreased by 20%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were 12 homes sold, with a median sale price of $70,290 - a 4.9% increase over the $67,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 15 homes sold in Hamilton in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Hamilton for 2018 was $1,793. In 2017, the median sales tax was $1,658. This marks an increase of 8.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.6%.
