McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met Dec. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Deckle McLean, George Dixon, Michael Kirby, Rod McGrew, Dave Nissen. Members absent were Cindi Helling, and Vickie Kipling. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, Bonnie Scripps, John Vigezzi, Joe Rossmiller, and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.

Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from November 4, 2021

Member McGrew moved with a second by Vice Chair McLean to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried with a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Joe Rossmiller gave the report. The total number of dogs in the shelter at the end of November was 8 and there were 11 cats. Rossmiller informed the Committee that due to respiratory problems with the cats they are doing a deep cleaning of the cat rooms and cages. John Vigezzi asked how people were reacting to them not accepting any cats at this point. Rossmiller stated they have had no problems.

Humane society

Bonnie Scripts handed out a newsletter. They have made almost $20,000.00. The Humane Society pulled a cat from the shelter for teeth that needed removed and adopted it out.

Policies & Procedures

None.

GIS Update

Member Michael Kirby gave an update. Chad Sperry has updated the GIS Maps

Claims

Member Dixon moved with a second by Vice Chair McLean to approve claims as submitted. Motion carried on voice vote.

Other

Vice Chair McLean stopped at the Animal Shelter to check on the new sign. The sign should be done by January and will be front and back.

County Board Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer reminded the Committee that Sexual Harassment training needs to be done by December 31, 2021.

Adjourn

Member Kirby moved with a second by Member McGrew to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
