City of Bushnell City Council met July 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from June 20, 2022

2. Approve May Financial report

3. Approve and Pay June Bills

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Wilt thanked all the people who helped in making the fireworks show go off with a Bang.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Nothing to report

Public Works

*Greg Ryckaert from IMEG reported that they had been shooting elevations in order to come up with a plan for the Eastside storm sewer. Ryckaert stated they were having progress and it did work with the elevations they had.

*Ryckaert stated they had a pre-construction meeting on the sidewalk project and Laveridere Should be starting in 3 to 4 weeks.

*Ryckaert stated he would check the deadlines on the grant for the Washington Blvd. Sanitary sewer project.

*Ald. Lorton stated they would increase the rental rates on City equipment $10.00.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Activity report for June

*Next meeting July 11, 2022, 4:00 @ Complex

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the resolution of Adoption of the 2022 McDonough County Multi-Jurisdictional All Hazards Mitigation Plan. Ald. Coates seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Webb “aye        Ald. Baker “aye”

Ald. Norton “aye”     Ald. Coates “aye”

Ald. Yocum “aye”     Ald. Lorton “aye”

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

*Chief Ferguson stated the new hire for the police department, Kristena Johnson, Would be going to the academy in August.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Coates stated that Fred Smith was going to try to sell the Dairy Den.

*Coates stated that the air conditioning at the Rec center needed to be looked at.

*Ald. Yocum stated they would be painting everything but the gym at the Rec. Center

This Saturday and Sunday.

Website Demo

*Ald. Webb showed council a demo of the new Bushnell Website she is creating.

*Nothing to report

Economic Development

*Nothing to report

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*Reid Splash Park Proposal – City Attorney Chuck Laegeler stated that the suggested site Has passed the environmental impact test, but it has not been approved through the city.

Laegeler stated that they needed to see actual plans and meet with the Brewers personally.

Attorney Laegeler is going to contact the Brewer’s and ask if they can attend the next council Meeting.
