City of Bushnell City Council met Aug. 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Pro tem Mayor Lorton called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench reported that she has looked into the T Mobile grants and they are not matching up to $50,000.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Norton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from July 18, 2022

2. Approve June Financial report

3. Approve and Pay July Bills

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Havens “aye”    Ald. Baker “aye”

Ald. Norton “aye”      Ald. Yocum “aye”

Where upon Pro tem Mayor Lorton declared the motion carried

Personnel/Finance/Budget

Public Works

*Utility Supervisor Joe Fosdyck reported they would be doing an ICC audit this week, and the USDI would be coming to do a gas leak survey.

*Street Superintendent David Raymond reported they would be doing oil & Chipping on the west side of town on Wednesday.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Activity report for July

*Next meeting August 3, 2022 5:00 @ the Police Complex

*Police Chief Chaney Ferguson stated they have no crossing guards for

The Fall Festival lined up.

*Jeff Rench from ESDA reported that Bardolph had some storm damage Monday morning.

Parks/Recreation/Real Estate

*Minutes from the 7/27/2022 meeting

*Ace Hardware will start installing the HVAC system at the Rec. Center this week

*Ald. Yocum reported there has been some vandalism at the Rec. Center. The thermostat wall coverings have all been broke and there were some mirrors broke in the fitness center.

*The Gym floor is being stripped and new wax put down.

*Ald. Yocum stated they would like to get a Adult Volleyball league started for this Fall & Winter.

Engineering

*IMEG is working on the bid documents for the Water tower painting.

*Cost est. for the East Side storm sewer is $300,000.

Economic Development

*Minutes from July 25, 2022 meeting.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*New City Attorney Nick Tinsman stated he has talked with the Circuit Clerk to familiarize himself with McDonough County court system.

Ald. Yocum made a motion to adjourn
