Five new directors were recently chosen to serve on the Illinois College Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Jenny Faith Carrell ’99, Chandler Polyte ’14, Kate Habecker Kenny ’86, Jeff Radcliffe ’77, and Amy Hildebrand Reid ’86 will serve the board for five-year terms beginning on Sept. 30.
Jenny Faith Carrell ’99, of Springfield, Illinois, currently serves as the strategic market director for government accounts for Johnson and Johnson. As a student, she was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, a residence hall director, Student Forum president, class officer, participated in Model UN, served on the Student Activities Board and as Homecoming co-chair.
“The skills, relationships and leadership opportunities I experienced at Illinois College helped shape me into the person I am today,” she said in her candidate statement. “I was able to learn from professors who believed in me and pushed me every day. I would love to be part of the future development plans for current and prospective students at Illinois College.”
Chandler Polyte ’14, of Naperville, Illinois, is an underwriter manager at CVS Health. He was a student-athlete participating in track and field — in pole vault and the 400M Relay — and in soccer. He was a member of the Investment Club, Diversity Club and served as a student ambassador.
“My time at IC was phenomenal, life changing and thought-provoking. I developed great relationships with my peers and professors, through which I grew personally and academically,” he said. “I would love for others to have a similar experience as I did.”
Kate Habecker Kenny ’86, of Wadsworth, Illinois, is a global public affairs and media manager for Caterpillar Inc. As a student, she was a member of Gamma Delta and served in student government.
“I look forward to engaging with Illinois College students to help them prepare for today’s workforce while promoting all the opportunities that IC provides them,” she said. “I am also excited to re-engage with fellow alumni to build a strong recruiting network to attract future students.”
Jeff Radcliffe ’77, of Jacksonville, Illinois, is vice president and chief compliance officer for Horace Mann Investors Inc. and Horace Mann Insurance Co. As a student at IC, he was a member of Phi Alpha and participated in the wrestling team.
“I would not be who I am, or have accomplished what I have in life, but for Illinois College and the friendships formed there,” he said. “I’m interested in giving back my time and talents to my alma mater in any way I can in order to help its current students, strengthen the alumni community and promote IC to the best of my ability.”
Amy Hildebrand Reid ’86, of Houston, Texas, devotes her time to volunteering in the community including work with her local YMCA board and The Blue Bird Circle which supports the Blue Bird Circle Clinic for Pediatric Neurology. As a student, she was active in women’s track and field, served as editor of The Rambler newspaper and on the Student Activities Board, participated in intramural sports and worked in Schewe Library.
“Illinois College offered me a solid foundation from an educational standpoint due to the outstanding professors, teachers and leadership on campus. I am always proud to credit my alma mater for contributing to my sensible approach to tackling problems,” she said.
The Illinois College Alumni Association Board of Directors includes elected alumni representatives who share a mission to further the interests of the College, strengthen the connections between alumni and their alma mater, and foster a spirit of fellowship and goodwill in the alumni community.
