Western hits the road for UT-Rio Grande Valley

The Western Illinois men are back in action after a week off, hitting the road once again to take on Texas-Rio Grande Valley. The Leathernecks are 3-2 all-time vs. UTRGV with the last meeting coming in 2008 when UTGRV was Texas Pan-American.

Last time out
The Leathernecks dropped their second-second straight game, falling at Central Florida 70-37. A 21-4 run by UCF in the last 11 minutes of the first half gave the Knights a 37-18 lead at the break. Western Illinois was playing its fourth game of the week and without preseason First Team Summit League guard Trenton Massner.
Jesiah West led WIU, scoring 12 points while KJ Lee, in his first start of the season, scored 10.

UTGRV is 2-2 this season and coming off a 97-75 loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Thursday night. UTGRV averages 81.5 points per game while allowing 68.5. The Vaqueros are shooting 51.4 percent from the field while hitting 37.1 percent from three. They are +10.5 in rebound margin per contest.
