MDH Makes Testing Procedures Easier at the Drive-Thru

McDonough District Hospital announced a more convenient process for testing in the Drive-Thru.

Effective immediately, patients experiencing symptoms related to RSV, influenza, and COVID-19 do not need a doctor's order to get tested for those three ailments. Patients can pull up to the climate-controlled Drive-Thru, enter the building, and be conveniently tested from inside their own vehicle.

Individuals already signed up for the Patient Portal will typically have their test results loaded to their account typically the same day (based off volume of tests). For those with an established primary care provider, testing results will also be shared with their provider’s clinic office. Anyone without an established primary care provider will receive a phone call with their results from a MDH staff member.

Patients will have to contact or schedule an appointment with their primary care provider for a prescription covering any medicine not available over-the-counter.

The MDH Drive-Thru is open seven days a week: Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Please bring a photo ID and insurance card when getting tested.

Patients can save time by calling (309) 836-1753 to pre-register.
