WIU's 50th Jazz Festival Friday and Saturday
The Western Illinois University School of Music will present the 50th annual Jazz Festival on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
Friday's main event will be a 7:30 p.m. concert by the WIU Jazz Band and Jazz Studio Orchestra (JSO), featuring guest trumpet artist Alex Norris. On Saturday, there will be an exceptional lineup of junior/senior high and college jazz bands and clinics by Norris, and members of the WIU jazz faculty. Norris will also perform with the JSO Saturday afternoon.
Friday night's performance is open free for general audience seating, and will be live-streamed on the School of Music's YouTube channel and Facebook page.
