McDonough County Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met Jan. 10.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Mike Cox, Clayton Murphy, Dustin Berg, and Dana Walker. Members absent were Dave Cortelyou, and Vicky Kipling. Others in attendance included Chad Wilson, Patrick Stout, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.
Chair Larry Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of December 13, 2022 Minutes
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
None
Administrator’s Report
Census is at 65, with 7 being Medicare, 37 being Medicaid 4 hospital and 17 private-pay. Medicare currently owes $208,658.54. There were 13 admissions, and 14 discharges.
Financial Report
Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the December 31, 2022 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 6 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 2 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
Chad Wilson informed the Committee that the new flooring in the Zahren Building will be done January 13, 2023.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Chad Wilson gave the report.
Building and Grounds Claims
Chair Schwerer discussed with the Committee about paying claims submitted by Klingner & Associates. Chair Schwerer asked Member Cox where we stand with Klingner. Member Cox said that he has not received a reply from them since December, but will reach out to them before the Finance meeting this month. Chair Schwerer stated that they are behind getting completed work to the County so that a time line can be set.
A Motion was made by Member Cox to pay the claim to Klingner & Associates as submitted with a second by Member Lithfield. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the January, 2023 Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments
Chair Schwerer informed Committee that during Lame Duck Session in Springfield there was Legislation being discussed on Wind and Solar Farm getting out of the hands of the County and into the hands of the State.

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Berg to adjourn the meeting at 7:26 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
