McDonough County Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met March 14.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Dustin Berg, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Vicky Kipling, Clayton Murphy, and Dana Walker. Committee Chair Larry Aurelio, and Member Vicky Kipling were absent. Others in attendance included Jock Hedblade, Chad Wilson, Patrick Stout, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Vice Chair Terra Litchfield called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of February 14, 2023 Minutes
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Walker to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
None
Administrator’s Report
Elm’s Administrator Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Bledsoe would like to implement the CNA Incentive Program. Census is at 64, with 9 being Medicare, 36 being Medicaid and, 12 private-pay. Medicare currently owes $244,388.37. There were 10 admissions, and 10 discharges.
Financial Report
Member Berg moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the February, 2023 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 6 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 2 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
None
Jock Hedblade-Macomb Area Convention & Visitors Bureau
Hedblade addressed the Committee about the Lincoln sign on the Courthouse lawn. They would like to replace the sign, if the maintenance department can install it, they will pay for it. Hedblade stated that they are also hoping to eventually place a Lincoln statue on the south west side of the Courthouse lawn.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Chad Wilson gave the report. They are still working on repairing the fire alarm equipment.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Murphy to approve the February, 2023 Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve ARPA Project Plan
A large discussion was held regarding the plans recently received from Klingner and Associates.
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Murphy to move forward with the Architects on the exterior of the Courthouse. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Berg to adjourn the meeting at 7:06 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
