Bushnell-Prairie City Community Unit School District 170 Board of Education met May 8.

The Board of Education met in a Special Meeting on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the District Office with the following members present: McCleery, Miller, Oakman, Croxton, Webb and Thompson Absent: Mendenhall
Public Comments: None
Superintendent, Dr. Dinger, declared the canvas results from the April 4, 2023 election.
Superintendent, Dr. Dinger, administered the Oath of Office to the elected board members John McCleery, Allen Thompson, Rod McGrew and Holly Spangler
President McCleery stated "Inasmuch as there is no other business to come before this board, a motion for adjournment Sine Die is in order."
Motion by Member Oakman, seconded by Member Miller to adjourn Sine Die. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Oakman, Croxton, Webb and Thompson. Nay: None
Call to Order for the New Board of Education.
Motion by Member McCleery, seconded by Member McGrew to appoint Superintendent Dr. Dinger as President Pro Tem. After a voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
Motion by Member McGrew, seconded by Member Thompson to appoint Sonja Settles as Secretary Pro Tem. After a voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
Nominations for President were called. Member Miller nominated John McCleery.
Superintendent Dr. Dinger asked for other nominations. There were no other nominations.
John McCleery was declared President by acclamation.
Member McCleery served as President.
Nominations for Vice President were called. Member McCleery nominated Jonathan Miller. President McCleery asked for other nominations. There were no other nominations.
Member Miller was declared Vice President by acclamation.
Nominations for Secretary were called. Member Miller nominated Jake Croxton.
President McCleery asked for other nominations. There were no other nominations.
Member Croxton was declared Secretary by acclamation.
Motion by Member McGrew, seconded by Member Thompson to appoint Sonja Settles as recording secretary. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: McCleery, Miller, Croxton, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Spangler Nay: None
Motion by Member Webb, seconded by Member Miller to appoint Melissa Anderson as treasurer. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Croxton, Webb., Thompson, McGrew and Spangler Nay: None
The Board discussed Regular Meeting dates, times and place.
Motion by Member Spangler, seconded by Member Webb to establish Regular School Board Meetings for the third Wednesday of every month beginning at 6:00 p.m. With the following exceptions: There will be no Regular Meeting held in July. The August 16th Regular
Meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Croxton, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Spangler. Nay: None
Motion by Member McGrew, seconded by Member Thompson to adjourn the Special Meeting. After a voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
