City of Waverly City Council met July 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Call to Order and Roll Call.

Mayor Duewer called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Present were: Alderman Cleveland, Alderman Nagel and Alderwoman Robinette. Absent were: Alderman Baines, Alderman Campbell and Alderman Gray.

Pledge of Allegiance

Greg Hillis, Benton & Associates. Discussion and possible action to finalize the proposal for work items regarding the State of Illinois Natural Resources (IDNR) “Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant Program to assist the City in the preparation of the specified OSLAD Grant Application for Salter Park Renovation. Mr. Hillis presented a three (3) phase project for the improvements to Salter Park which would span over nine (9) years. Improvements include: a ½ mile walking path, pickle ball courts, adding to the existing playground. Remove / replace bandstand. flower/pollinator garden spot, splash pad and new restroom facilities. The City plans to apply for a 50/50 matching grant through IDNR and is looking for input from the community.

Discussion and possible action to set a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 6:30 pm. Alderman Cleveland moved, second by Alderwoman Robinette to hold a Public Hearing. All present voted aye.

Alderwoman Robinette moved, second by Alderman Nagel to adjourn at 6:35 pm. All present voted aye.
