McDonough County Board Finance Committee met Oct. 11.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee members present were Letha Clark, Dave Cortelyou, Joe Erlandson, and Dave Nissen. Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, and Member Mike Cox were absent. Others in attendance included Keith Krohe, Randy Pickering, Patrick Stout, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
County Chair Schwerer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approve Minutes from September 13th and 18th, 2023
Member Nissen moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the minutes with a correction. Motion carried on a voice vote.
MCPT Report Review & Approval
Member Clark moved with a second by Member Erlandson to approve the MCPT invoice in the amount of $1,081.50 for September, 2023. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Erlandson to approve the YMCA invoice in the amount of $1,289.98 for September, 2023. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Coroner Report
The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.
Monthly Financial Reports
The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.
Transfer of Funds
None.
Warrants Issued in Vacation
Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Insurance Update
Keith Krohe recommended renewal plan B for Symetra at $95,000.00
Member Erlandson made a motion to approve the Renewal Plan B for Symetra at $95,000.00, moved with a second by Member Clark. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Member Cortelyou made a motion to approve an 8% increase for individual and a 4% increase for family insurance premiums, moved with a second by Member Erlandson. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Discuss ARPA Funds Action
A discussion was held regarding the proposal received from Klingner, it will go to the full Board meeting.
Approve Amended Resolution to Establish County Building Repair and Maintenance Fund Amend FY 2023 McDonough County General Fund Budget
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Clark to Approve the Amended Resolution to Establish County Building Repair and Maintenance Fund Amend FY 2023 McDonough County General Fund Budget. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approval of Claims
Member Nissen moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Executive Session
None.
Other
Member Erlandson had a few questions regarding the County budget. There will be a Truth in Taxation hearing on Monday, October 24th at 5:00 p.m.
County Board Chair Comments
The jury trial that was schedule for this month has been waived, so the full Board meeting will be held in Courtroom 201.
Adjourn
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Erlandson to adjourn the meeting at 7:54 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
