State Senator Steve McClure | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) has launched his annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive to ensure that senior citizens in nursing homes and assisted-living facilities feel loved and remembered on Valentine's Day. Senator McClure emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "Living in a nursing home or assisted-living facility can be a lonely experience. We want to make sure that those seniors know that they are an important part of the community and are loved."
To achieve this goal, Senator McClure is urging students, scout groups, churches, and other organizations to participate by creating homemade cards. These heartfelt creations will then be distributed to nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other long-term care facilities within the 54th Senate District.
From now until February 5th, individuals can drop off their handmade cards at either of Senator McClure's district offices. The first office is located at 410 N. Monroe Street in Litchfield, while the second office is situated at 208 N. 4th Street Suite B in Effingham. Both offices will have a designated drop box available during normal business hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
