McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met April 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Vicky Kipling, Dustin Berg, George Dixon, Michael Kirby, Jerry Raby, and Dana Walker. Member Dave Nissen was absent. Others in attendance included Assistant Animal Control Officer Malique Reardon, Patrick Stout, Bonnie Skripps, John Vigezzi, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from March 14, 2024

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Walker to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Assistant Animal Control Officer, Malique Reardon gave the report. There was 18 dogs and 27 cats in the shelter at the end of March.

Humane Society

Bonnie Skripps informed the Committee that the pet food pantry is putting food in the Good Food Collaborative. John Vigezzi had a sample application for the Feral Cat Colony for the Committee to view, he would like to have it available to be signed. Chair Clark will talk to Treasurer Graves about handling the forms.

Member Berg moved with a second by Member Dixon to have the Treasurer sign and hand out feral cat manager letters. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Mowing Bids

Three bids were received from the following:

Epic Property Service: $55.00 per week.

Jake’s Mowing Service: $124.50 per week.

Rigg Lawn service: $55.00 per mowing.

Member Kirby moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve Rigg Law Service for mowing at the Animal Shelter. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Policies and Procedures

Member Dixon would like for the County to become a Non-Sanctuary County.

GIS Update

No report.

Claims

Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

None.

County Board Chair Comments

None.

Adjourn

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Berg to adjourn the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
