McDonough County Board Finance Committee met June 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Joe Erlandson, and Ken Durkin. Member Dave Nissen was absent. Others in attendance included Keith Krohe, Public Defender Scott Terry, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from May 8, 2024

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Erlandson to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

MCPT Report

The monthly MCPT Report was received and filed.

Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval

Member Clark moved with a second by Member Aurelio to approve the YMCA invoice in the amount of $907.62 for May, 2024. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Coroner Report

The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed. A discussion was held regarding a salary increase for the Coroner. A resolution will be sent to the Full Board.

Monthly Financial Reports

The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.

Transfer of Funds

Insurance Clearing funds were transferred.

Warrants Issued in Vacation

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Insurance Update

Keith Krohe gave an overview regarding the changes to the insurance plan.

Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to send the changes to Full Board. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Zahren Building Internet

A request has been made to increase the internet speed at the Zahren Building. No action was taken.

Approval of Claims

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Executive Session

None.

Other

Scott Terry, the new Public Defender introduced himself to the Committee. He also explained the use of the Public Defender Grant.

County Board Chair Comments

None.

Adjourn

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
