The Shelby County Rescue Squad will continue its operations following the enactment of legislation introduced by State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield). The bill, recently signed into law, ensures the squad can keep serving the community.

“I’m thankful to members of the Shelby County Board for coming up with the idea for this legislation,” said Senator McClure. “I’m proud that this bipartisan bill will help the Shelby County Rescue Squad stay on the job and help keep the people of the county safe.”

Shelby County Board members requested McClure to file Senate Bill 1102, which formally authorizes the county to operate their rescue squad and provide necessary benefits to its members. The bill aims to address regulatory issues that could have led to the shutdown of the rescue squad.

SB1102 was signed by the Governor on August 9th.
