The Western Illinois University cross country program has announced its fall schedule for 2024, featuring several in-state events and notable competitions.
The Leathernecks will participate in meets at Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois, Illinois State, and Bradley, with an additional visit to Notre Dame before the Ohio Valley Conference Meet.
The season opens on August 30 with the Eastern Illinois Invite. The following week, the team competes at Northern Illinois in the NIU Husky Opener on September 6. This is followed by participation in the Redbird Invite at Illinois State on September 13.
After a two-week break, the team heads to South Bend, Indiana for Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invite on October 4. The regular season concludes with the Bradley Pink Classic on October 18.
Postseason activities begin on November 1 with the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Union City, Tennessee. The NCAA Regional meet will take place on November 15 in Peoria, Illinois. Qualifiers from this event will advance to the NCAA Championships in Madison, Wisconsin on November 23.
