Rep. Davidsmeyer recently celebrated the achievements of young readers at Greenfield Public Library by hosting a pizza party for children who participated in the summer reading program. The event, held on Monday, August 19, was part of an initiative where Davidsmeyer provides a pizza party if at least ten children from a library read ten or more books during the summer.

“Definitely one of the best parts of my job, celebrating the accomplishments of these kids!” said Rep. Davidsmeyer.

The celebration recognized 16 children from Greenfield Public Library who met the reading goal. In addition to pizza, chips, cookies, and water, each child received a personalized certificate commemorating their achievement.

“We’re proud to announce that 16 children from GPL accomplished that! On Monday, August 19 he brought pizza, chips, cookies, and water for the celebration. Each child also received a beautiful, personalized certificate,” stated one of the organizers. “A big thank you to CD and many other lawmakers who realize the importance of literacy and public libraries!”
