City of Bushnell City Council met Aug. 19.

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

Approval of Minutes from August 5, 2024

Accept July Financial Report

Ald. Norton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

*Festival Week

*Next meeting is September 3, 2024

*Fireman’s Open House 9/14/2024 11am – 1 pm.

*Keokuk Junction Railway will be putting up new lights and signals at the Sperry, Crawford & West Main crossings.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Nothing to report

Public Works

*Next meeting Wednesday, August 21, 2024 4:00 @ City Hall

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Ford Explorer need another $3500 worth of service work.

*The city will be putting liens on abandoned properties

*New speed limit signs will be put up on W. Hurst and W. Hail streets

Parks/Recreation/Real Estate

*The pipes at the Splash pad will be laid this week, and concrete will be poured next week. *New air conditioner to be put in the Depot this week.

Engineering Report

*Bushnell Lead Service Line Inventory-the City received a letter from the IEPA asking for some additional information by September 1.

*Washington Street sanitary sewer grant- will review plans when the Public Works committee meets.

Economic Development

*The Superintendents office contact Ald. Allen about painting Spartan Heads on the 4 corners of

The square. Street supervisor David Raymond will meet with them on this.

*Next meeting 8/26/2024 4:00 @ the Depot

MAEDCO

*There is continued interest in the Dairy Queen.

*The Bushnell mobile home park is for sale.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Nick Tinsman will have the permanent easement for Slater’s property – Façade

Project on Main St., ready next week.

*Public Accommodation Ordinance will be ready to pass next meeting.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn
