McDonough County Board Road & Bridge Committee met Sept. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor, Law Library. Committee Members present included Chair Dave Cortelyou, Eric Chapman, George Dixon, Travis Hiel, Jerry Raby, and Jarad Royer. Members Craig Foster, and Mike Cox were absent. Other persons in attendance: Patrick Stout, County Engineer Megan Crook, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Emily Flynn.

Chair Dave Cortelyou called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Review Minutes from August 1, 2024

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve County Aid to Bridge Resolution 2348-22 Mound Township (Revised)

The project has already been completed but the cost exceeded the original projected amount.

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Raby to Approve the County Aid to Bridge Resolution 2348-22 Mound Township (Revised). Motion carried on a voice vote.

New Tandem Purchase

Engineer Crook would like to table this for now, she has not ordered a new truck.

2025 Pavement Preservation Resolution

Engineer Crook is estimating that they will oil and chip approximately 50 miles next year.

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve the 2025 Pavement Preservation Resolution. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Miscellaneous Project Updates

Engineer Crook informed the Committee that they have started the apple orchard bridge project, she is also working on a road use agreement for the windfarm by Adair. They have a few openings she will begin posting for applicants from September 7th through September 20th. She is hoping to have the positions filled by the middle of October.

Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
