McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met Sept. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Vicky Kipling, Michael Kirby, Jerry Raby, and Dana Walker. Members Dave Nissen, George Dixon, and Dustin Berg were absent. Others in attendance included Animal Control Officer Zach Welch, Bonnie Skripps, John Vigezzi, Karen Blakeley, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Board Secretary Sara Kluthe.

Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from August 8, 2024

Member Walker moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the minutes with corrections. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Animal Control Officer, Zach Welch gave the report. There was 28 dogs and 25 cats in the shelter at the end of August.

Humane Society

Bonnie informed the Committee that they raised approximately $4,600.00 from the Pay it Forward fundraiser. Karen Blakeley shared information regarding a fundraiser that she is doing, Have a Heart Build a Dream. More information can be found at www.mcg.mcdonough.il.us/animalshelter.

None.

GIS Update

No report.

Approval of HR & Planning Claims

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Kirby to approve the HR & Planning claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Items as Needed

Chair Clark informed the Committee that the Pet Population Control Fund has 70 outstanding vouchers and Blakeley has 5 scheduled for next week which will deplete these funds. County Chair Schwerer recommended letting other local veterinarians know about this.

None.

County Board Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that Seward has almost completed their work on the Courthouse, there will be a meeting next week.

Adjourn

Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Raby to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
