Western Illinois women’s golf heads to Summit League Championships

Western Illinois University's women's golf team is set to compete in the Summit League Championships from April 23 to April 25 at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Nebraska. The course features a par of 71 and stretches over 6,133 yards. The championship consists of three rounds, with play commencing at 8 a.m. CT each day.

In their most recent outing, Western Illinois participated in the Lady Jaguar Invitational at Plum Creek Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana. The team finished eighth with a total score of 635 across two rounds. Natalie Hooper led the Leathernecks with a score of 155 over two rounds, placing her in 16th position individually. Her performance earned her the title of Summit League Player of the Week.

The teams competing alongside Western Illinois include Denver, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Omaha, North Dakota, and St. Thomas.

Representing Western Illinois are golfers Katie Tanner, Natalie Hooper, Olivia Kerr, Kelly Wu, and Riley Hansen.
