While Western Illinois University's football team did not secure a win against Lindenwood on Saturday, quarterback Nathan Lamb delivered an outstanding performance that made history in the Big South-Ohio Valley Conference. Lamb achieved new records for completions in a game with 42 and passing yards totaling 564. He also tied the second-best single-game passing touchdown record in the program with five touchdowns.

Lamb's achievements earned him the title of Big South-Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. His performance has placed him among the top quarterbacks in both Leatherneck history and within FCS rankings this year. His 42 completions are unmatched by any FCS player this season, while his passing yards and total offense of 604 rank as the second-highest in FCS this year. Nationally, his five passing touchdowns tie him for fifth place.

These accomplishments set new benchmarks within the two-year history of the Big South-OVC conference. Lamb is recognized as Player of the Week for a third time this season, making him the most awarded Leatherneck since Brett Taylor received Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors four times in 2017. He is also noted as being the first to achieve three-time Offensive Player of the Week status since Matt Barr in 2010.

In addition to these accolades, Lamb was named a STATS Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention for his performance during Saturday's game.
