FOIA Request Sent to City of Jacksonville Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Jacksonville Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at West Central Reporter have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent to the City of Jacksonville's city clerk office.

Our request specifically seeks information about all parking violations that are currently unpaid within the jurisdiction of the City of Jacksonville. We asked for a list that includes the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date when each violation occurred, and the total amount due from each offender.

As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe access to such public records is crucial. It enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities effectively.

We have also requested a fee waiver for this information as we fall under the category of media professionals who are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public.

We will continue to keep you updated as we gather more information on this matter. As always, our goal is to ensure that our readers are well-informed about local government activities and their impact on daily life.
