FOIA Request Sent to City of White Hall Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of White Hall Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at West Central Reporter have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of White Hall, Illinois.

The request seeks access to records detailing all unpaid parking violations currently within the city's jurisdiction. Specifically, we are asking for a comprehensive list that includes the name of each offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date when each violation occurred, and the total amount due from each individual.

As a media organization dedicated to providing accurate and comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to such public records is essential for us. It allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

We believe that as media professionals engaged in disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. We eagerly await a response from the City of White Hall regarding this matter.
