On Tuesday morning, State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer, representing the 100th District, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Jacksonville DMV facility. The event also saw the participation of Facility Manager Chelsea Speeks and South Jacksonville Village President Dick Samples. The facility is located at 901 W. Morton Ave., Suite #13.

The redesigned DMV now operates as a "One-Stop-Shop," aiming to enhance customer experience by reducing wait times and increasing efficiency. The renovation includes updated signage intended to guide customers more effectively through the facility. This redesign allows both vehicle and driver services to be accessed at a single service counter, which is expected to save time for visitors.

Jacksonville's location is among the first in Central Illinois and one of only a few in Downstate Illinois to implement this new concept. Employees at these "One-Stop-Shop" DMVs are cross-trained to handle both driver and vehicle services.
