FOIA Request to City of Carthage Regarding New and Active Residential and Commercial Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at West Central Reporter have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Carthage.
The request, sent on October 30, 2024, seeks detailed information about all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, till the present date. The specifics requested include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address of the property involved in the permit, and contractor's name.
In addition to this, we have also asked for a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. The same details as above are requested for these active permits.
We believe that access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
