Did Jacksonville School District 117 students succeed or flounder in their 2022-23 school year Math tests?

In the 2022-23 school year, 21.2% of the students in Jacksonville School District 117 passed the Math portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 1,335 students in Jacksonville School District 117 who took the Math portion of the test, approximately 283 (21.2%) passed.

The percentage of Jacksonville School District 117 students who met or exceeded expectations on the IAR decreased by 0.9% compared to the previous school year.

Jacksonville School District 117 roughly covers eight schools within Morgan County and has a main office in Jacksonville.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) assesses the progress of students in grades 3-8 in meeting the Illinois Learning Standards in English language arts and mathematics.

According to the 2024 Illinois Report Card, math proficiency among Illinois students in grades 3-8 remains below pre-pandemic levels, while reading performance has recovered. Meanwhile, 11th graders have experienced significant declines in both subjects, falling below pre-pandemic benchmarks.
