McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met Nov. 14.

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3 rd Floor, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Vicky Kipling, Mike Kirby, George Dixon, Jerry Raby, and Dana Walker. Members Dave Nissen and Dustin Berg were absent. Others in attendance included Animal Control Officer Zach Welch, Karen Blakeley, Eric Blakeley, Clayton Cook, Terry Thompson, County Chair Scott Schwerer, Deputy Clerk Jeremy Benson, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approve Minutes from October 10, 2024
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Animal Control Report
Animal Control Officer, Zach Welch gave the report. There was 29 dogs and 19 cats in the shelter at the end of October.
Welch informed the Committee that he would like to have an exhaust fan in the cat room.
Humane Society
Dr. Karen Blakeley has applied for a grant but she has not heard anything back about it.

GIS Update
Chair Clark thanked Member Kirby for his work.
Approval of HR & Planning Claims
Member Walker moved with a second by Member Kirby to approve the HR & Planning claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
