Illinois State Representative Christopher Davidsmeyer | Representative Christopher "C.D" Davidsmeyer (R) 100th District
State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer has been appointed as Assistant Minority Leader for the 104th General Assembly, as announced by House Republican Leader Tony McCombie on Monday. Davidsmeyer, representing Murrayville, will continue in his role within the Republican Leadership team.
Davidsmeyer emphasized his commitment to serving as a conservative voice for his constituents and others across Illinois. He stated, "I am working to end the growth of government, to create more natural business growth on main-street, not Wall Street, and to ensure that Illinois families and future generations have the opportunity for personal success." He also expressed his intention to bring more conservative Republicans into the General Assembly to achieve balance in state governance.
Leader McCombie highlighted her efforts in forming a leadership team that embodies the diverse voices of Illinois. The team includes leaders from various regions such as southern, central, and northern Illinois. McCombie noted that this approach ensures representation from all parts of the state within the House Republican Caucus.
"My leadership team is built to provide a strategic advantage on how to achieve our shared objectives of creating a stronger Illinois without adding to the burdens on Illinois families," McCombie remarked. She added that she has chosen colleagues from different districts across Illinois to collaborate with her in advancing state initiatives.
The legislative session is set to resume on January 28th when lawmakers will return to Springfield.
