The Board of Education met in a Regular Meeting on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School LRC with the following members present: McCleery, Miller, Spangler, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman Absent: None
Public Comments: John Oakman spoke regarding his opposition to the Tax Levy.
The Board reviewed the Consent Agenda.
Motion by Member Spangler, seconded by Member Miller to approve the Consent Agenda which contained the following: Minutes of the November 20, 2024 Regular and Executive Session Meetings, Payment of Bills, Treasurer's Report and Investments, Student Activity Accounts, Manual and Void Checks and Imprest Ledgers. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Spangler, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman. Nay: None
Superintendent Gound reported on the Chicago School Board Conference, our teachers will attend a joint Teacher's Institute, in Macomb, with McDonough County Teachers on January 6th. FFA Ag exchange with a Chicago School.
The Board reviewed the Tax Levy.
Motion by Member McGrew, seconded by Member Miller to approve the 2024 Tax Levy as presented. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Spangler, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman. Nay: None
The Board reviewed the updated Attendance Policy.
Motion by Member Beekman, seconded by Member Thompson to approve the updates to the Attendance Policy. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Spangler, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman. Nay: None

Motion by Member Webb, seconded by Member McGrew to set High School Graduation for Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Spangler, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman. Nay: None
The Board reviewed the Personnel Report.
Motion by Member Spangler, seconded by Member Webb to approve the Personnel
Report as follows: Resignation: Susan Marlow as Cafeteria Cook effective December 20, 2024. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Spangler, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman. Nay: None
Superintendent Gound reported that there will be an out of Bushnell and Prairie City Township Board Member position open after the April Election. Driver Education class and driving will be offered on Saturdays beginning with the second semester.
Motion by Member Miller, seconded by Member Beekman to adjourn to Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, probable litigation against the District and student discipline. After a voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
