McDonough County Board Road & Bridge Committee met Jan. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor, Law Library. Committee Members present included Chair Craig Foster, Eric Chapman, Travis Hiel, Jerry Raby, and Terry Thompson. Members Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, and Jarad Royer were absent. Other persons in attendance: Dave Cadwalader, County Engineer Megan Crook, County Chair Eric Blakeley, Deputy Clerk Emily Flynn, and County Clerk Jeremy Benson.

Chair Foster called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Review Minutes from December 5, 2024

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Thompson to approve the minutes with a correction. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Aid to Bridge Resolution 2449-34, New Salem Township

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve the County Aid to Bridge Resolution 2449-34, New Salem Township. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Request Approval to Seek Bids for 2025 Material Quotations (MFT and Non MFT) and for 2025 PP Member Thompson moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the Request Approval to Seek Bids for 2025 Material Quotations (MFT and Non MFT) and for 2025 PP. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Miscellaneous Project Updates

Engineer Crook informed the Committee that the Star Bridge project is still on hold, and that they are preparing for snow.

Report given by Dave Cadwalader.

Claims Review and Approval

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Items as Needed

Engineer Crook’s resignation was discussed.

Executive Session

County Chair Blakeley moved with a second by Member Raby to Enter into Executive Session at 7:06 p.m. pursuant to Chapter 5, Illinois Compiled Statutes Section 120/2 ( c ) (1) (2) and (11). Motion carried with a roll call vote of 5 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 4 absent.

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Raby to Exit Executive Session at 7:11 p.m. with no action taken. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 5 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 4 absent.

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Thompson to approve the appointment of Scott Hance to act as the interim engineer and to increase the pay of $10.00 per hour for the interim engineer. Motion carried on a voice vote.
