City of Bushnell City Council met March 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Guest – Ericha Durr addressed council about having a Walk for Autism, it will be May 17th 2:00, starting at the East park and walking around the square.

Guest – Eric Shangraw from GFL would like the City to renew the garbage contract with them.

Treasurer

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated she had several CD’s rewritten with all earning over 4% Interest. She will also be start working on the budget next week.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Norton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from February 17,2025

2. Approve January Financial Report

3. Approve & Pay February bills

Ald. Havens seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Wilt attended the State of the State address and was recognized for her efforts in

Keeping Marshalltown in Bushnell.

*The next council meeting will be moved from 3/17/25 to 3/24/25

*Meeting with Historical Society Wednesday at 5 at City Hall and Parks and Rec committee

*3/8 – Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at Oddfellows

*3/14 – Souper Dooper Soup Supper 5:30 - $5.00 at the door – Youth for Christ at the CCC

*3/22 – Trivia Bowl at Checkrow Community Church, Donation pasta bar at 5:30, trivia and then Dessert auction- childcare provided.

*4/4 – High School Spring Play “Clue” 7 pm

*4/5 -Decade of Decadence 80’s Hair Night @ Bushnell Fire Hydrants Hoses

*4/12 – Music Trivia to Benefit BPC Spartan Baseball VFW – 7 pm

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*IBEW contract meetings to start soon

Public Work

Ald. Havens made a motion to approve the Engineering of the West Side STP of $45,000 to IMEG. Ald. Norton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

*TEST will have a report on the update replacement bids for the Membranes at the Dean

Street water plant.

*Sinkhole at Dean and Harris Street – there was a sewer break and the City called in Lavierdere

For help.

Ald. Havens made a motion to approve Ordinance # 2025-3 An Amendment to the Ordinance of Prescribing Electric Utility within the City of Bushnell, IL. Ald. Burkholder seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Next meeting 3/5/25 @ 5:00

Engineering Report

Nothing to report

Economic Development

*Next meeting is 3/24/25 4:00 @ depot to discuss the kitchen plans for the Depot.

MAEDCO

*Beef-A-Roo will be coming to Macomb in the old Hardees building on West Jackson

*TJ Maxx will have a soft opening on April 13, 2025

*The old Dairy Queen in Bushnell will be Archies, they are currently working on it.

*MAEDCO board meeting 3/11/25

*There will be a Jobapalooza on March 25th at the Spoon River outreach from 1:00-4:00
