The Western Illinois Men's Soccer team has announced the addition of a new member to its 2025 signing class, goalkeeper Drew Heller. Hailing from Jefferson City, Missouri, Heller is recognized for his strong performance in goal and is expected to enhance the depth of the Leathernecks' defense. He currently plays for Jefferson City High School and is an active participant in the MLS NEXT program with the St. Louis Scott Gallagher club, known for its competitive youth development.
Heller is set to graduate in May 2025 and is anticipated to contribute significantly to the team's defensive strength with his competitive nature and composure as a goalkeeper.
Head Coach Dr. Eric Johnson expressed his satisfaction with the signing, stating, "We are very pleased to add Drew to our 2025 incoming class. Drew is a committed student-athlete with all the qualities to succeed here at Western Illinois. Drew is a proven leader and will also impact our chances of winning an OVC Championship. He currently is competing with one of the top youth teams in the Midwest with St. Louis Scott Gallagher in the MLSNext Academy team."
