Western Illinois Men's Golf Team completed the Arkansas State Invitational in Jonesboro, Arkansas, concluding their participation with a 10th place finish. The team collectively posted a score of 914, or 50 strokes over par, across three rounds of play.
Owen Howe emerged as the leading player for Western Illinois, achieving a tie for 31st place with a total score of nine-over-par. Howe began strong with an initial round score of 70, which was two under par, featuring five birdies, including three on the front nine. His performance altered in subsequent rounds where he shot a 76 and a 79. Over these rounds, he managed to card five more birdies.
The other team members also contributed to the team's score: Mateo Rascon shot 13 over par to tie for 44th; Nathan Tillman concluded with 18 over par, placing 56th; Baptiste Labeyrie finished at 21 over par for 57th place; and Maverick Schwabe ended at 23 over par, placing him in 59th position.
Following this event, the Western Illinois team is set to participate in the OVC Championships scheduled to take place in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, beginning on Sunday, April 20.
