City of Bushnell City Council met April 7.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

Pro Tem Mayor Norton called the meeting to order                        

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Guest – Mike Hobson & Chuck Eddington presented a plaque to the city in appreciation of all the things

Treasurer

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench presented the budget for 2025-2026

Ald. Webb made a motion to approve the 1st reading of the 2025-2026 budget. Ald. Havens seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Webb “aye”          Ald. Allen “aye”

Ald. Havens “aye”       Ald. Burkholder “aye”

Ald. Norton abstain     Ald. Ellis “aye”

Ald. Yocum “aye”        Ald. Promisson “aye”

Where upon Mayor pro tem Norton declared the motion carried.

Ald. Webb made a motion to waive the 2nd reading of the 2025-2026 Budget. Ald. Havens seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Havens “aye”      Ald. Burkholder “aye”

Ald. Norton abstain    Ald. Ellis “aye”

Ald. Yocum “aye”       Ald. Promisson “aye”

Ald. Allen “aye”          Ald. Webb “aye”

Where upon Mayor pro tem Norton declared the motion carried.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from March 24 ,2025

2. Approve February Financial Report

3. Approve & Pay March bills

Ald. Allen seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Lisa Webb is moving outside the city limits so she put in her resignation for the end of April.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Meeting 4/8/2025 – to discuss the IBEW clerical contract, and the non-bargaining unit annual increase.

*Meeting 4/10/2025 – to discuss FOP contract, and the non-bargaining unit annual increase

*Meeting 4/24/2025 – monthly bills

Public Works

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the bid from Ohio Dredge for $52,259.00, for the W. Side Lagoon dredging. Ald. Allen seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Yocum “aye”          Ald. Promisson “aye”

Ald. Allen “aye”             Ald. Webb “aye”

*The Car Wash wants to add a Semi Truck bay using Crafford St., this will go to the Public Works

Committee for discussion.

*An Electric rates study needs to be done, there will be a zoom meeting with the Utility board.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Next meeting 4/14/2025 4:20 @ complex – to discuss Flock Cameras

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*The council received a Fire Alarm Replacement proposal from Getz for the Rec. Center

Engineering Report

*Bid opening for the Washington Street Sanitary Sewer project will be 5/22/2025 10:00 @ City Hall.

*The sludge dredging on the W. Side Lagoon will be starting in a month or so.

Economic Development

*Next meeting 4/28/2025 4:00 @ the Depot

MAEDCO

*Enterprise Management board meeting on 4/17/2025 9:00

*The 2025 CEO trade show will be 5/6/2025.

* Hobby Lobby in Macomb is now open, and T.J. Maxx will open on 4/13/2025, there will be a Ribbon cutting at 7:45

*Archies in Bushnell will be opening soon.
