City of Greenville Lake Committee met May 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. ROLL CALL Committee Members Present:

Caleb Walton, Andrea Nord, Jim TarasuIk, Gary Trudell Kyle Smith (participated by phone, did not vote) Staff Present: Jeff Ketten, CM Jo Hollenkamp

Public Present: None

1.1. Kyle Smith participated by phone, but did not vote.

4. REVIEW OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

4.1. Previous minutes

Motion by Jim Tarasuik, seconded by Gary Trudell, Motion to approve the minutes of the January 13, 2025 meeting.

RESULT: Carried

5. YEAR END REPORTS

5.1. Update on local club tournaments. City will give update.

CM Hollenkamp reviewed the attached information. Gary asked if the participants paid a fee and Jeff K responded that each participant is required to purchase a boat sticker and that acts as their fee.

5.2. Lake sticker sales including in/out of county of state. City will give update.

5.3. Update on Campground Rentals

CM Hollenkamp reviewed the attached information.

6. MATTERS OF CONSIDERATION

6.1. Consideration of sedimentation ponds dredging. Jo will give an update.

CM Jo Hollenkamp gave an update as to dredging for Joe Rensing's sedimentation pond. These were her key points:

∙ Pond is 2 acres, 4' deep

∙ Approximate cost to dredge is $150

∙ An RFP will be created by Milano & Grunloh and sent out after May 1, 2026 ∙ The city has no legal obligation to dredge, but she stated it is our first line of defense to prevent lake siltation

∙ There are 4 siltation ponds for the lake

∙ Total cost to dredge all ponds will exceed 1 million dollars

Jim Tarasuik provided a calculation on the total water loss (see attached info). A diking system was also discussed including other locations in Illinois were this can be found. Approximate cost was also estimated to be in the millions.

6.2. Update on fish attracting structures for the lake. Nord and Smith to give an update.

Discussion ensued for about 20 minutes concerning the structures and who would provide what. Key points are:

∙ Build 30 structures

∙ Jeff K. to provide 5 gallon buckets from Buchheits

∙ Kyle Smith is providing the pvc pipe, tools to cut pipe, trailer to load structures

∙ Concrete will be purchased by the city from plant next to public works

∙ Jo will contact Mike Lindley with Vandalia Bass Club to see if they can help with assembly

∙ Andrea will check with Greenville University to confirm number of workers that are participating with "Give Back Day" on May 16th. Andrea will call Jo on 5/6/25 to confirm numbers.

∙ If possible, the city will either use the GU workers or the Bass Club for assembly.

∙ Jeff K. is going to build 2 sample structures tomorrow, Kyle is going to provide the material for those sample structures.

7. OLD BUSINESS

7.1. Update on Buzzard Bay OSLAD Grant.

Cm Hollenkamp gave the update and conversation ensued concerning the bat boxes. Jim T. and Andrea N. advised that the boxes need to have the following: ∙ 12' high

∙ Mounted on separate pole

∙ Ventilation holes about halfway up the box

∙ 2 Compartments

∙ Locate facing south or southwest

∙ Locate away from high traffic

∙ Make boxes out of clear cedar

Jim T. offered to show public works the best locations and public works would install. Jim said he is, "Batman". Followed by laughter.,

8. NEW BUSINESS

There was no new business.

9. ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Jim Tarasuik, seconded by Gary Trudell, to adjourn the Lake Committee at 6:56 p.m.
