McDonough County Board Road & Bridge Committee met June 5.

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor, Law Library. Committee Members present included Vice Chair Dave Cortelyou, Eric Chapman, Mike Cox, Travis Hiel, Jerry Raby, and Jarad Royer. Member Chair Foster and Terry Thompson was absent. Other persons in attendance: Dave Cadwalader, Rick Walker, County Chair Eric Blakeley, Deputy Clerk Emily Flynn, and Deputy Clerk Kyah Beck.
Vice Chair Dave Cortelyou called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Review Minutes from May, 2025
Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
2026 Pavement Preservation Project
Member Walker passed out General Highway maps of McDonough County showing road preservation plans. This could be a costly expense to repair these roads. Awaiting IDOT approval.
Temp Engineer Salary
The salary for the temp engineer was discussed and approved. Salary was adjusted from originally $10 extra, to now $5 extra instead. Position is going to pertain more administrative tasks and solar projects.
Miscellaneous Project Updates
Village of Adair drainage was discussed. There are several pipes underground with drainage issues that are of concern. Pricing is still being looked in to as this could be a costly issue to fix. Rick Walker will give more updates in the August meeting.

Claims Review and Approval
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Chair Comments
Wind farms project is awaiting approval from RWE. A meeting will be held with the company next week. There was also discussion of a new 911 call center going into Health Services, Building 2 for next year.
